Any special talents/hobbies? Cross country ski raced for Bowdoin; went to Europe to race
What do you want students to know about you? I spend free time in the mountains biking and running.
What do you teach? 5 chemistry classes; 1 forensic science class
Why did you come? I was in Massachusetts but wanted to move back to Maine. “(FHS) is a perfect fit.”
Where did you go to college? Bates
Any special talents/hobbies? Loves being outside (hiking, skiing canoeing); can do a headstand in canoe.
What do you teach? Focus 9, American Studies
Why did you come to FHS? I wanted more opportunities and wanted to live near the coast.
Where did you go to college? Lots of college! Waikato University in New Zealand is one.
Any special talents/hobbies? I used to be able to speak and write Chinese.
What do you want students to know about you? I want the best for them.
What do you teach? Guidance counselor
Why did you come to Freeport? Loved energy of people who interviewed her (Ms. Gulko, other guidance counselors); perfect fit
Where did you go to college? Saint Lawrence (undergrad); USM (masters)
Any special talents/hobbies? Likes to surf, paddleboard, bike, ski, outdoor activities.
What do you want students to know about you? Really open; friendly; being a guidance counselor has been lifelong dream; used to be a high school social studies teacher.
What do you teach? I teach. Biology, Environmental Science, and Accelerated Achievement.
Why did you come to Freeport? I came to Freeport from Houlton. My family moved here to escape Aroostook County and get back to a more populated place with more diversity.
Where did you go to college? I graduated from the University of Maine in Orono.
Any special talents/hobbies? I like to bake, needle felt, play my guitar, and attend contradances
What do you want your students to know about you? I want students to know that I love teaching. Also, that I am a huge nerd and proud of it.
What do you teach? I teach AP World History and the history side of American Studies.
Why did you come to Freeport? I came to Freeport because of its positive reputation in the MidCoast area and its small school atmosphere. I wanted a job to settle into as my family makes this area our home.
Where did you go to college? I attended a few different colleges, including Clark University, the University of Maine at Orono, and Salzburg University in Austria.
Any special talents/hobbies? I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and ran an Outing Club for three years at my last position.
What do you want your students to know about you? I am looking to start another Outing Club here at FHS. I am also a living history reenactor of the American Revolution, a hobby of mine since birth!
What do you teach? I teach Global Studies and Focus 9.
Why did you come to Freeport? I came to Freeport because I’m from the area (Topsham, specifically), had heard really good things about FHS, and also liked the idea of working in a smaller school. So far it seems like a great decision!
Where did you go to college? I attended Brown University for undergrad, and the University of Edinburgh and the University of Southern Maine for grad school.
Any special talents/hobbies? I like to bake, can knit a pretty decent hat, and know a lot about Harry Potter (only the books!).
What do you want your students to know about you? I love teaching, because every day is different, and my students are often hilarious and fun to be around. I also adore cats–I have one, and her name is Keeva.
What do you teach? Journalism and English 10 and AP Literature
Why did you come to Freeport? I had been at my last school for 10 years and was looking for change.
Where did you attend college? Bachelors at UNH; Masters at USM
Any special talents/hobbies? I like cooking, but I wouldn’t call it a special talent. I like playing video games. I also like coaching basketball.
What do you want students to know about you? I’m pretty easy going and open to helping all my students. I’m excited to be at FHS.
